I’ll be honest, I thought rooftop season was going to be a bust this year. Imagine my delight when I found out Goodale Station here in Columbus was not only serving excellent safety standards, but one of the best happy hours in the city. Happy Hour runs from Tuesday – Saturday 4 pm – 6 pm and is INCREDIBLE! It consists of half-priced snacks, draft beers, glasses of wine, and the classic cocktails.

Now you might be saying to yourself “snacks? that’s hardly a dinner.” Well at Goodale Station it is! Our favorite snacks include the Korean fried cauliflower, glazed Asian pork ribs, pierogies, and the “chips and dip.” You can truly build a full meal out of these plates alone but if you’re looking for something more filling we also enjoy grabbing a couple “shareable” plates and my number one recommendation is the burrata.

I normally make it a rule not frequent the same restaurant on a regular basis so I have the opportunity to try new ones, especially now that I’m limiting how much I go out entirely due to COVID. That said, there have been a few Fridays where the only place I wanted to go was this rooftop. The atmosphere, drinks, and deals are incentive enough. But I cannot stress how impressed I am by the quality and creativity of the food.

Head Chef Tripp Mauldin has outdone himself with the offerings at Goodale and even throws out new dishes on a regular basis. It’s rare for me to say that I’ve enjoyed every dish I’ve tried on a menu but Goodale Station 100% deserves that distinction, as well as five stars, two thumbs up and any other praise you can think of. Highly recommend checking it out!
